Farmers and food processors look to Viterra to do more than market raw commodities. We are active throughout the food production process, from developing innovative seed technologies to financing farm input purchases and processing food ingredients.

About 50% of the canola seeds we sell in Canada are exclusive and proprietary varieties that earn higher margins than public varieties.

Viterra has the infrastructure and assets in key growing regions and the expertise to maximize efficiencies for the benefit of our valued global customers.

The commodities purchased from farmers are cleaned, blended, and stored by Viterra. Merchandisers trade producers' commodities into domestic and international markets, matching supply with demand. Our merchandising teams work closely with those who manage our logistical requirements through trucking, rail, vessel, and intermodal freight.

In New Zealand, we manufacture, sell, and distribute feed products, nutritional supplements, and commodity ingredients to livestock producers.

Adding value to raw commodities, either at the point of production or near the point of delivery, allows Viterra to achieve higher margins and deliver the ingredients used by brand-name food manufacturers.
